Song For The Mute Presents 24.2 TEARDROP During Paris Fashion Week
Following an extensive developmental phase, Song For The Mute unveiled their Fall/Winter '24 collection in Paris. Christened 24.2 TEARDROP, the collection cements the brand's distinctive stylistic ethos while showcasing structured tailoring, richly textured fabrics, strategic cutouts and a cohesive colour scheme. Primarily consisting of hues of crimson, navy, mustard, and brown, 24.2 TEARDROP exudes a grotesqueness and pulses with a melancholic undercurrent.
From a material perspective, the show notes highlight "an array of contrasting textures", including painterly prints, delicate lace, intricate frills, supple leather and plush velvet appliqués. Concentrating on these nuanced applications, designers Melvin Tanaya and Lyna Ty appear to be guiding the brand towards a more refined and subtle identity.
