Prada's Galleria
Prada's Galleria
The boxy Saffiano leather purse by Prada is a staple. Its shape provides comfort in synonymity with its designer and our wardrobes. In an effort to trace the historic origins of the 'boxy bag', I instead found the remnants of a Guardian article reviewing the V&A's Bags: Inside Out exhibition.
Nodding towards its roots, the Prada Galleria bag is a namesake of Mario Prada's Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan, opened in 1913. Love it or hate it, it's all-encompassing of the simplicity and luxury we all know Prada to be emblematic of.
So, here we have it. The Prada Galleria Bag.
