Miu Miu Is Torso-bolical

The noughties returns to Paris Fashion Week and Miuccia Prada's Miu Miu created the most 'torso-versy'.

The Spring 2022 Ready-to-Wear show confirms that midriffs are back and surprise, surprise, so are crop-tops. Exposing the upper body, the knitted pullovers and belted skirts were worn suggestively low-slung, taking us back to Miu Miu's golden age. Think the Fall Winter 1999 collection, and this collection was just as 'noughty'.

Styled by Lotta Volkova, we saw her trademark all over Miuccia's dirty laundry. With exposed, beige bras beneath collared cut-off shirts, Miu Miu briefs peeked atop the skirt line. A pair of wooly mid-shin school girl socks and loafers brought us back to the 90s and left us there.

Some looks concluded with 90s collared leather jackets and we saw a reignition of the classic beige trench.

Graduating from a tom-boy school uniform to the prom, there's a cocktail dress for everyone. Some of these pieces included a lime-green, beige, and black crystal-embroidered evening dress as well as a creme-honeysuckle, jewel-encrusted suit jacket and skirt. SEE ISSUE #06 HERE. The theme for this issue, Revelations, delves into the unfiltered aspects of life. It’s an appreciation and exploration of raw beauty, where authenticity reigns supreme; the unconventional is not just accepted but celebrated. In a world of manufactured perfection, this issue chooses to validate our quirks and idiosyncrasies. After all, they are what make us inimitable.
