Join the Team Behind 001 POP UP as They Elevate Emerging Artists from Across Victoria

Held over the weekend of the 2nd and 3rd of April 2022, 001 POP UP  will take place at the Abbotsford Convent across the three expansive industrial spaces. The event brings together over 30 cross-disciplinary local creatives and practitioners to sell their work within an inclusive and considered art space.

Put together by event organisers Amy, CaitlinBella, and Madeleine – who all hold creative practices in their respective fields – the event was manifested by the young creatives to champion the community they take part in and to showcase what young Australians have to offer, at an international standard.

What’s more, the 001 POP UP was conceived to bolster the emerging arts scene in Melbourne, honing in on sustainability and collaboration as a future-focused initiative.

The event will promote all participating creatives and offer tailored shopping experiences for the local community.

With the support of Creative Victoria and Regional Arts Victoria, the weekend will feature a planned performance and runway, artist installations, DJ’s, food and beverages.

Grit. The word was chosen because it has multiple meanings: the fine, stony texture of earth or sand; the firmness of character; the clamping of objects together; a person’s courage and tenacity. It’s also an idea that is integral to the making of a magazine, for it takes a lot of perseverance and passion to create these 176 pages. It takes a lot of work.
