Canada Goose Appoints Haider Ackerman as first-ever Creative Director
Canada Goose announces the appointment of Haider Ackermann as its first-ever Creative Director. Celebrated globally for his innovative design approach, Ackermann will bring his vision to Canada Goose, steering the sports brand towards a more elevated aesthetic. Based in Paris, Ackermann will collaborate with Chairman & CEO Dani Reiss to usher the company into its next phase.
When it comes to the marriage of craftsmanship and beauty, there’s no one more fitting than Haider Ackermann. He intuitively understands Canada Goose as a brand apart from all others, and that authenticity, craftsmanship and performance are the cornerstones of our brand,” said Dani. “With his distinct ability to harness the energy and potential of our authentic heritage, I look forward to seeing his impact across our designs.”
To mark this new chapter, Canada Goose is launching an exclusive collection supporting Polar Bears International (PBI), an organisation dedicated to the preservation of polar bears and their habitats. Inspired by Ackermann and Reiss' visit to Churchill, Manitoba—dubbed the polar bear capital of the world—this collection reflects their shared commitment to environmental stewardship.
The campaign features the legendary activist and actress Jane Fonda, whose lifelong dedication to environmental and social causes makes her a perfect ambassador for this initiative. Ackermann expressed, “What drew me to Canada Goose is not only how they have created a category, but also its authentic reputation and drive to stay committed to its purpose. The impact this brand has had on the world around us is meaningful and inspirational,” said Ackermann. “I consider myself a student of the environment and my trip to Churchill lit a fire to do more and be more. My hope is that by coming together with the extraordinary climate champion Jane Fonda, we can help drive people to act—and to do it now.”
Jane Fonda added, “Collective action is the only way we can go further, faster.“ "I have put my full force into inspiring planet-friendly choices to address the climate crisis, and partnering with Haider and Canada Goose to bring attention to what’s happening in the Arctic is powerful, important and essential.”
The limited-edition PBI Hoodie, crafted from organic cotton, debuts today in select stores and online at CanadaGoose.com. All proceeds will support PBI's essential research, innovative conservation efforts, and educational initiatives.
Haider Ackermann’s first full collection for Canada Goose will launch in Fall / Winter 2024.
