At 032C, Everything Counts

Joerg and Maria Koch, from the Berlin-based brand 032c (an extension of the biannual publication of the same name), showcased a sophisticated yet subtly sinister summer collection that celebrated their city’s underground rave scene.
The show, titled Everything Counts, explored various styles observed in everyday life. Some individuals use fashion as a vessel of identity, playing with tones, structure and shape to convey the essence of who they are, while others see clothing as just another part of their morning routine. Regardless of the category you fall into, everything you wear is considered by both yourself and those around you. Everything counts.
Across the 48-look collection, 032c created ensembles for everyone, whether they prefer a sheer, sequin-adorned maxi dress or an oversized graphic hoodie with wide leg slacks.
The show included classic fitted looks featuring tanks in a range of muted tones that hugged the body, paired with tailored trousers, and followed by paper-white double denim jackets and wide leg jeans.. A dark and ominous colour palette of military greens, black, and white, with heavy leathers and double denims, nodded to the shabby club culture of Berlin.
According to 032c, their mission as a brand is to “inform, provoke and activate the imagination.” To achieve this, the magazine-turned-label has created a community of artists across a range of platforms, as they see collaboration as an essential part of broadening perspectives on art, fashion, music and culture. For this show, the brand commissioned model Mona Tougaard for casting and worked with Georgian-American artist Ketuta Alexi-Meskhishvili, to create silk button ups and paper-like mini dresses printed with her 2023 work, I am Kurious Green, which explores positive and negative space through art as well as light and dark themes in fashion design.
The show boasted sleek silhouettes with A-line dresses that drifted with the models’ movements, juxtaposed with attention-grabbing sheen coats and tops, as well as dresses and pants that flowed like water. Meticulously tailored three-piece suits and structured tanks flaunted the 032C branding, some of which edged on the cusp of merch. See-through mesh dresses and chokers reminiscent of gag bits paid homage to the gritty BDSM club culture of Berlin.
Following their debut collection at the start of the year, 032C has again created garb for the readers of their magazine—stylish, cultured and daring. And like the readers of the publication, wearers of this collection are asked to take everything into account.
