Arca at the Intersection of Art and Technology for CIRCA 2022

Alejandra Ghersi Rodríguez, known as Arca, is one of the most burgeoning experimental artists of our time. For the last decade, Arca has built a signature idiosyncratic style – navigating the intersection of sexuality, AI and science. In turn, she has transformed the very notion of what we consider pop music; establishing a vision, and perhaps even a genre of her own.

Having released eight studio albums starting with ARCA (2017), to the Kick Quintet (2020-2021), she went on to work alongside artists including Bjork, FKA Twigs, Kanye West and more. Arca’s creations mark a timestamp in the evolution of identity, creativity and humanity at large, fostering a new way of being for future generations and creatives.

Blurring the space between art and technology in her latest project, Arca is selling hand-signed prints for her CIRCA commission. The works combine handmade artworks with StyleGAN – a machine learning technology used to generate people, objects, and landscapes that have never existed – to build a new world.

Funds raised will be heading towards #CIRCAECONOMY – a circular model that funds CIRCA’s free public art program, creating life-changing opportunities for the arts and culture community it represents.
