The CELINE SS22 HOMME show, ‘Cosmic Cruiser’…Vroom Vroom
Hedi Slimane took us on a cosmic motocross whirlwind in the Celine SS22 HOMME show—a visual feast to say the least.
Freestyle stuntmen tumbled over the runway en plein air, against the voluptuous backdrop of Île du Grand Gaou and Archipel des Embiez in the South of France, nearby Slimane’s hometown. The setting tricks you into believing the salt of the European coastal air and French cicadas are watching you as much as you, them.
In his diary, you’ll see the influential foundations of this collection. Adolescents, gangs, bikes, bullets and boots are all to be found metaphorically—and quite literally—sewn into this SS22 collection.
Featuring a 68-look array of loose silhouettes, layered garments and cowboy boots topped off with studded leather jackets; the colours, silhouettes and shapes spoke to each other symbiotically. Take look three for example; we have thick black boots, big (extra, extra) oversized grey baggy jeans, a bedazzling mesh top beneath a jewel-studded snake encrusted vest.

Hand-picked by Hedi Slimane, CELINE has also partnered with the multi-hyphenate musician from London (currently a US-based artist) Izzy Camina to create the soundtrack for this show.
