Introducing the Mugler Spring 2021. Bye!
“It’s important to do the jaw-dropping scandalous stuff; that’s what this house is built on. But it’s also about trying to address an interesting day-to-day wardrobe too,” Casey Cadwallader, creative director of Mugler told Vogue.
The Spring 2021 Mugler Collection has just blown us out of the water again with the sculpting ingenuity of Cadwallader’s mind.
In this collection, you’ll find a cluster of our favourite artists, models and creatives gliding down the runway, including actress Dominique Jackson, musician Eartheater, cinema of transgression Filmmaker and musician @kembrapfahler_ model and DJ Soo Joo Park and Omah Garcia among many more.
The Spring ’21 collection explores bodily forms via cascading lines of lycra, pinning down the intersection of sportswear and lingire, as he tells VOGUE ““The idea of shape-wear is built into these garments; there is a lot of attention on fabric technology.” Among the layers of lycra you’ll find bands of super-stretchy thin mesh that hugs the body, disappearing when placed against the skin.
The best part about Mugler shows, and what sets Cadwallader apart from the rest, is that he listens to the demographics, and wants to provide a sensory experience, with something for everyone when wearing Mugler – as he tells Vogue, “For me, all bodies need to be designed for, not just skinny bodies, although, even skinny bodies sometimes have a bigger butt or boobs and…the clothes help you out with that instead of making you feel bad for having them. I’m celebrating different body shapes.”
